1. City Never Sleeps (map overhaul)

    Indirect change
    • Hero: No Rem balance changes. New footstep sounds only.
    • Map: Full map rework with new Steam Vents (invisibility and regen while standing on them), a neutral-camp rework now called Haunts, new Tough Crates that need a heavy melee, and Healing Snacks.
    • Map: Sinner's Sacrifice now has variable timings for its bonus, and both it and Buff Containers can grant new buff types.
    • Items: The Broker and Corrupted Items added.

Editor's note: Lil Helpers interact with crates and Sinner's Sacrifice, so the Helper routing advice on this site was rewritten to avoid relying on pre-rework behaviour. Whether Helpers can open Tough Crates is unconfirmed.

  2. Helper targeting fix and global slow reduction

    Fix and global change
    • Lil Helpers: Fixed a bug where several Helpers could be sent to follow the same player for no effect. Added a target indicator when using instant-cast mode.
    • Global: All movement slows reduced by roughly 20% and ground dash slows by roughly 10%. This touches the slows on Pillow Toss and Naptime even though Rem was not named.

Editor's note: We have not confirmed whether the community wiki's slow percentages for Rem were updated after this change, so those figures are marked unconfirmed on the abilities page.

  3. Healing and Lil Helpers upgrade reshuffle

    Balance change
    • Tag Along: Heal-over-time spirit scaling cut from 0.66 to 0.4. Third upgrade's missing-health scaling bonus cut from +0.02 to +0.016.
    • Lil Helpers: Spirit resist on a followed hero cut from 15% to 12%. All three upgrades now add one Helper each: the first with +1.5 m/s move speed, the second with +15% trooper damage and resist, the third with +15% spirit resist.
    • Naptime: Cooldown raised from 175 s to 200 s, and the third upgrade's cooldown cut lowered from 65 s to 55 s, as part of a change to all ultimates.

Editor's note: The last numerical balance change to Rem as of the latest review.

  4. Tag Along quality-of-life pass

    Balance change
    • Pillow Toss: Charge time cut from 9 s to 8 s. Third upgrade damage raised from +90 to +100.
    • Tag Along: The burst heal now also applies to every ally you hop to. The heal-over-time was shortened from 3 s to 2 s with the same total healing. Second upgrade raised from 25% to 35%. Can be cast through veils, the flight to your ally is 50% faster and the lockout after ejecting dropped from 1 s to 0.3 s. Friendly auras now affect Rem while napping, and several ways Rem could die while napping were fixed.
    • Naptime: Base ability now grants +30% damage reduction while channeling (the third upgrade still adds more).

  6. Naptime radius and Tag Along cast fix

    Balance change
    • Lil Helpers: Fixed a souls bug with breakables.
    • Tag Along: Can no longer be cancelled during the cast delay, to stop accidental mid-cast cancels.
    • Naptime: Radius raised from 17 m to 19 m. Second upgrade's sleep bonus raised from +0.5 s to +0.75 s.

  8. Naptime rework of upgrades

    Balance change
    • Lil Helpers: Trooper heal changed from 10/s to 8/s with spirit scaling raised from 0.125 to 0.14, and heals now tick more evenly (a net reduction).
    • Naptime: Sleep move speed reduced, sleep duration cut from 4.25 s to 4 s and radius cut from 20 m to 17 m. The second upgrade now gives +0.5 s sleep and +3 m radius instead of channel protection, and the third upgrade now also grants +50% damage resist while channeling.

  9. Pillow Toss charges and Helper economy

    Balance change
    • Weapon: Light melee damage increased by 15%.
    • Pillow Toss: Time between charges cut from 12 s to 10 s. The +2 m radius moved from the third upgrade to the second, and the third upgrade now adds a charge.
    • Lil Helpers: Souls from Helper-followed troopers with no allies nearby raised from 50% to 100%. Those troopers now give the enemy killer +20% bounty. Trooper heal changed from 14/s to 10/s with higher spirit scaling, and trooper resistance cut from 35% to 30%. Enemies hitting a Sinner's Sacrifice now scare Helpers off it.
    • Naptime: Third upgrade's cooldown reduction raised from 55 s to 65 s.

Editor's note: Several values were changed again later; kept for history.

How we keep this log current

  1. When Deadlock updates, we read the official patch notes on the Deadlock changelog forum or Steam news.
  2. We record every line that names Rem, plus map, item and global changes that affect how his kit plays.
  3. We update the ability and item data, mark anything we can't confirm, and revise the affected pages.
  4. Only then do we change the "last reviewed" date shown across the site.
